{scenes from the cinema : annie hall}

I've been wanting to see this movie for years, and for whatever reason had just never gotten around to it. So last night I finally did it, and it's now up there on the list as one of my favorites. A young Diane Keaton & Woody Allen make a wonderfully charming pair, and his odd, quirky behavior keeps you smiling and laughing the entire time.

Let's also not forget about the fashion, design, and cinematography. Throughout the whole movie, all I kept thinking was how much the decor and apparel looks like trends that we have right now. It's so funny how if you wait long enough, everything will come around again. Who would have thought that those black thick-rimmed glasses would ever be back in style? I know a ton of guys who would gladly take a pair.

Anyways, long story short, if you haven't seen this movie you should. It's one of the good ones.

{Put a bird on it : Portlandia}

I recently discovered the show Portlandia on YouTube. If you haven't seen it, it's basically a show revolved around Portland, OR, and it's pretty funny. In this clip Fred and Carrie take on one of the most obvious trends right now: birds. This video is hilarious, and so true!

{meliae}

I just stumbled across the perfect little video for a Sunday afternoon. It's a film version of a photoshoot done by Paul de Luna, and it's absolutely breathtaking. The whole feeling is so relazing and ethereal. I especially love the black dress with the grey chunky sweater - gorgeous.

buildings + vampires.

A tribute to the movie 'Where the Wild Things Are', this film was made based on the tale that Max tells his mother. It's directed by Sebastian Baptista & Nico Casavecchia. It's pretty amazing ... well done guys.

brothers.

i saw this movie the other day. it was a sad movie overall, but i think gave a realistic depiction of the reality that soldiers face when they return from war, and how those realities effect their families. it's a hard movie to watch at times, but makes you think about all the people that are overseas dealing with issues like these all of the time. i would recommend watching it, even if just as a reminder not to forget about these issues and the people that face them each day.
